Experience Artown throughout July
Major names and acts from the international world of entertainment perform at various venues. Attendance continues to grow, with 2007's Artown reaching 350,000. This year's Artown agenda includes renowned artists such as Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis on July 5, Tony and Emmy Award winner Mandy Patinkin on July 15 and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird on July 16.

You ready for Hot August Nights 2008??
Here it comes, the blast from the past for auto buffs and rock 'n' roll fans, Hot August Nights 2008, Aug. 2-10 in venues across Reno and Sparks. Relive the days of yesteryear with classic cars from 1972 and older and enjoy the tunes of the '50s and '60s.
Besides checking out the cherry rides, participants can take in dozens of concerts, many of them at no charge, and dance with an "Earth Angel" at the prom. If you haven't spent all your dough on your steady girl, classic cars to call your own or parts for the hot rod in the garage can be found at the Reno Swap Meet and Cool Car Showroom, the Big Boy Toy Store and the Silver Auction.

Tickets on sale for 2008 Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival
The 36th annual production, scheduled for July 10-Aug. 17, 2008, debuts the Festival's in-house production team and brings together two Shakespeare classics -- the gleefully wicked Richard III and the impishly interfering immortals in A Midsummer Night's Dream. The productions are complemented by the contemporary love story, CAMBIO, an original musical based on the novel The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

The 2008 Legends Reno-Tahoe Open, an official PGA Tour event, is the region's only professional-level sporting event. This national caliber tournament, now in its 10th year, features a field of 132 PGA Tour professionals competing for a $3 million purse.
